A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

Noctuary is typically a band that comes a few years too late, despite that their Black Metal sounds quite professional (although the guitar sound is too “thin”).

Their sound ranges from a tempered Marduk to old In Flames, Satyricon and early Summoning in the slower parts. The solos are typically old style Heavy Metal. The lyrical concept seems to be woven around some sort of Armageddon/Ragnarok story. I can’t be too precise about this since I don’t have the lyrics.

Despite the fact that I don’t hear a lot of new sounds, this album is still able to hold my interest, due to the amount of variation, both musically and vocally. A track I really like is ‘…And hate embraced night’ which has every Noctuary element in it.
