A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

We haven’t reviewed these Australian Thrashers back in 2016, but fortunately there are re-releases to bring back the attention to a band and their albums.

With ‘Awakened from the Abyss’ Hellbringer released, with the information we know today, their swansong back in 2016 via High Roller Records and you only have to think of “Slayer” while listening to this banger. You pick all the things that made ‘Show no Mercy’, ‘Hell Awaits’ and ‘Reign in Blood’ great and let them play by Slayer anno 1986. That’s ‘Awakened from the Abyss’!

For those who are whining about lack of originality, copycats or what not, when it is played as aggressive and with full commitment like Hellbringer does, you’ve earned my appreciation.

This is an album that will bring you back to the 80’s, and sure the aforementioned albums are the gold, silver and bronze in the competition, but ‘Awakened from the Abyss’ is a great speedy Thrash album without any doubt.
