What do we have here? A one-man band from Sweden, and we are going to focus on ‘Tomhet’, the independent full-length release by Hadangangen.
There are 4 songs plus 2 instrumental ones, and the first thing one notices is despair…Depressive Black Metal, somehow in the vein of Thy Light, Make a Change…Kill Yourself and similar bands.
Nice, frustrating and gloomy riffs go along with screams full of pain and a real need for salvation. The melodies take you down desperate paths and leave you with no choice in the end…
The instrumental parts are quite interesting, and I highly praise the last track on this album, which is certainly inspired by the mighty Burzum style of Ambient.
Quite a good piece of work by Vindsval, who is also the mastermind behind the band Mara.
