Originally from Costa Rica and now based in Berlin, a sophisticated work of Symphonic Death Metal was composed by Carved Memories.
Their debut features symphonic arrangements by Clemens ‘Ardek’ Wijers, known for his work at Carach Angren, the Dutch outfit known for their symphonic approach. The purpose was to fuse aggressive riffs with elegant symphonies, all done with a crystal clear production.
And that is precisely where the divide lies; those who can appreciate the bombastic, accessible, and melodic sound will value the record, but if you don’t, this album is simply not for you.
