Info

After the demo ‘Sangue Velho’ from 2022 we now have ‘Capítulo I – Dimensão Horrenda’ which is the long awaited 2025 debut full‑length of the Portuguese solo Black Metal project Vetus Sanguis, led by Perversus from Braga.

The album is released through Helldprod Records in collaboration with Murder Records, available on CD (limited to 100 hand‑numbered copies) and cassette.

The Vetus Sanguis project was born around the end of 2020 during the pandemic and on this album the misanthropic crusade of violent, ritualistic Black Metal continues.

The album takes off where the demo ended: full of raw Black Metal with pounding drums, murky guitars and diabolical darkness. Surprising is the Discharge cover halfway the album which shows Perversus’ affection for the basics of Black Metal. The insidious vocals snarling lyrics in Portuguese only add to the harsh atmosphere on the album.

The production is raw, lo-fi yet sufficiently clear to enjoy the 10 tracks on the album.

In short, ‘Capítulo I – Dimensão Horrenda’ stands as a solid debut, notable for its linguistic identity and adherence to Black Metal orthodoxy reflecting a broader trend within Portuguese Black Metal toward introspective, ritualistic expression.

In other words: ‘Capítulo I – Dimensão Horrenda’ is a scorcher so get your copy asap!
