A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Damnable are a Polish Death Metal band that started its existence in 1992 and released its debut full length album “Inperdition” in 1996. The subject of this review is the reissue of this record by Godz of War Productions.

The first thing that makes an impression when listening to this album is the vocal performance of Bayn which immediately will make you think of Dying Fetus. The opening track ‘Underworld’ strikes with relentless Death/Grind power due to grinding drumming, heavy guitar riffs mixed with some more melodic leads and the mentioned deep growls.

Bayn mixes the grunts with high hysterical screams that remind a bit of Napalm Death from the ‘Death by Manipulation’ times. ‘Paranormal Verdict’ and ‘Circle of Time’ continue the intensive audio brutality. They possess this raging fury of bands such as Cryptopsy and old Kataklysm which is not that often met in the Polish bands from the mid-90’s.

It is obvious that the Damnable guys are pretty good misicians and ‘Inperdition’ is an album that has stood the test of time as one of the most brutal releases ever coming from Poland. The production is also on a very good level which makes this one very enjoyable album for the fans of Death/Grind music. Check it out!
