A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Swedish Old School Death Metal-lers Wretched Fate have returned, after nearly four years, with their sophomore full-length release in ‘Carnal Heresy’. Yet, this is not the Swedish Old School Death Metal of At The Gates or the rest of the Melodic ilk. No, for this is Swedish Old School Death Metal more akin to the likes of Grave, Dismember, early Hypocrisy or even Bloodbath. I mean, hell, they even covered Bloodbath’s ‘Ways To The Grave’ on their demo.

But we are not here to discuss the demo. Nope, we are here for the newest member of Wretched Fate’s discography, ‘Carnal Heresy’. Released on February the 24th of 2023, we see more growth in the overall songwriting, production and tightness of the entire package. They already had the chops and pedigree in Wretched Fate to be a killer but as they have grown and improved as a whole they have become absolutely lethal.

‘Carnal Heresy’ is Wretched Fate leveling up and creating fresh sounding Death Metal that is rooted in the Old School at a level that can rival a few of the classics.
