Uzlaga – Submerge [EP]

uzlaga – submerge [ep]

Info

Some nights as I wind down and relax, I like to listen to some music and while I do that, I prefer to be outside, where I can sit back and just look up at the stars and/or clouds (depends on the night) as the music and wind wash over me. At times it’s just a beautiful, relaxing moment under the stars with some (usually) pretty good music. Other times things just align in ways that only The Great Old Ones truly understand. And tonight was one of those nights, where the soot covered, majestic Atmospheric Raw Black Metal of Uzlaga in my ears and Mother Nature before my eyes and body do a dance that always sets me in a hypotonic trance.

Clouds and winds shift along to the movement in the music. Clouds collide as chaos erupts in my ears. With ‘Submerge’ Uzlaga have created a hideously gorgeous work of art that ebs and flows in ways that mirror movementsband shifts in nature. Truly a beautiful sight to see and hear. Just like the beautifully disgusting mix of aggressive, melodic Second Wave and Modern Atmospheric Black Metal that Uzlaga bury in a layer of Raw filth and grissle so wonderfully.

‘Submerge’ here came out last year, 2022, and just so happens to be the debut EP for Atmospheric Raw Black band Uzlaga. And even though this is their debut, or should I say his as this is a one man band, we are already way behind on their discography. For there are already another EP, a split and two full-lengths between the release of the excellent ‘Submerge’ here till now, July of 2023. And if any of them are anywhere as good as this debut then we really have missed out. But make sure to start out with ‘Submerge’ here because it is vile, ugly, gorgeous and majestic all at once and you won’t be disappointed.
