4-man project from India since 2009. This 1st full length creeps up on you, starting with traditional, low complexity-Thrash riffs, but, then epic Black Metal verses sweep in and steal away your soul. There is a sadness to these changes…shadow descends…but, there’s good emotional dynamics to the songwriting, from angry Black Thrash to saddened Black Metal to tasteful, clean interludes…moments of rock. They remind me of a “good” Watain, if you can imagine that sort of thing. In the vein of Valkyrja meets Immortal (from the 2000s) meets Morrigan meets old Ninth Kingdom. The vocals are straight raspy, high-reverb-mid-range. Guitar tone sounds like a Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal pedal. Bass has an appropriately distorted twanginess without too much fatness. Drums are well executed and produced with clarity and punch and production is raw. I like both the music and the album artwork. (Orpheus)
