Monrovia, California’s Imperialist play a polished style of sci-fi themed Black/Death Metal. They have released 5 albums since their formation in 2013 and their 2023 EP, “Quantum” comes in at just under 22 minutes and features 5 tracks.
Musically they play riff laden Black/Death in the vein of Dissection and God Dethroned with plenty of hammer blasts, while the vocals are reminiscent of early Lord Belial.
Well executed and highly controlled the EP does come across a bit sterile but is an excellent display of their talent and songcraft.
