‘Promoting Total Death’ is my first encounter with this three-piece Swedish band, but it seems that this is already their second full-length album.
Paganizer plays a mixture of Thrash and Death Metal that isn’t bad at all. The band reminds me a bit of Witchery, Macabre and old Entombed, delivering aggressive and mainly mid-tempo riffs with an occasional blastbeat and guitar solo. It is not very original (not only the music but also the front cover featuring ‘another tank’!), but it is sure as hell effective. It seems that the old Swedish wave of Death Metal still has its influence on many newer bands, and Paganizer is a good example of this.
