A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

Hmm, according to Displeased Records, this CD contains 10 tracks, 5 old ones and 5 new ones. Well, I only count 9 and I can only see 4 old tracks, 1 cover and 4 new ones. Those 4 old tracks come from the legendary split LP with Mourning called “At the dawn of….” and that was released back in the day on Midian Records, which is the label of Death Metal guru Wim Baelus.

These tracks have now been re-recorded and tweaked a bit but haven’t lost any of their power and coolness. The cover is a 1960s track called ‘In the year 2525’ and that will probably still be in dad’s collection, if you wanted to listen to the original (I have done so, mind you). Nevertheless, it now sounds a million times more brutal and it’s not clear to me why they recorded this track; to butcher it or because they think it’s a super cool track?!

Furthermore, the 4 new tracks are of the same quality as everything else this band has released. And for the people who give a lower score for the so-called lesser production, I have just 1 word: pussies!
