Poland has a great history concerning Death Metal bands and Banisher can easily be added in this category. Only one band member from the original line-up is still active who perhaps can be known for his other work in the band Decapitated where he plays the bass on their last album.
Technical Death metal that sometimes colours outside the lines with a touch of Thrash , melodic tricks, prog influences and yes, even some djent is notable in track “Lockdown”. Vocalist Szczepan Inglot has a screamy grunt that tends toward modern deathcore but then added with enough spirit and variety. The whole album different metal styles are combined which makes this album very pleasant to listen the whole 40 minutes! The album title “Degrees of Isolation” is spot on in these Corona times and isolation indeed make people go berserk. Stand out tracks on this release: “Sacred Rules”, “Lockdown”, “Apotheosis” with a great Napalm Death acceleration in it (check out this song and listen from sec 49 and you’ll understand), and “Devil in ISO-5”. Don’t hesitate to have a listen what these Polish madman have created. (Fredde)
