Well, what do we have here? Ancient Malignity hail from Nevada, USA and have been active since 2019. Through Inhuman Assault Productions, they have released two full-length albums. We are going to focus on their latest work, titled ‘Dehumanization Dawn’, released in 2024.
These guys do a damn fine job with their overall sound, and the result is pure late 1980s to mid-1990s worship, reminiscent of the first steps of bands like Rotting Christ on their ‘Passage to Arcturo’ release, or even early Immolation. It is pure Old-School Death Metal with a Black Metal edge, featuring mostly mid-tempo passages but also plenty of blast beats, all executed in the traditional, old-school way.
If you are a true Death/Black Metal fanatic, definitely check it out; it will reward you by transporting you back to the old days of pure Extreme Metal, played the right way. It is always great to encounter such releases nowadays, and Ancient Malignity surely succeed in that!
