A Felled Forest is a one-man band from the U.S.A. that has so far released two EPs and one full-length album, with the help of Pile of Heads Productions. In 2022, their first attack saw the darkness of this world, suitably titled ‘A Beacon of Old Ways’.
An entity named BlackHeart is responsible for this first offering, as all instruments and tortured spits of vocals are handled by this guy. The release features five songs: five tracks that are Melodic, Raw, yet Atmospheric and chilling at times. They will either transport you through dim-lighted forests, or make you realise that this is just more of the same typical Black Metal, complete with keyboards, grim vocals, and the realisation that Life is Death and Death is Life.
In conclusion, I believe that if you enjoy travelling through dark, moisture-filled forests, what we have here is an almost 30-minute, interesting debut that is highly suitable for fans of Melodic Mid-Tempo Black Metal. Check it out without fear.
