Australia and the combination with Speed, Thrash, and Black Metal. Before you’ve even heard a single note, it already sets certain expectations, driven by the experiences of raw albums from those regions.
To begin with, you get what you expect. First Wave Black Metal, 80s Speed/Thrash Metal that feels chaotic, gritty vocals, and an “ough!” here and there. With a song like ‘The Reaper’, you naturally hear the Hellhammer influences, and for the rest, the usual suspects like Venom, Sodom, and Bathory come to the fore on ‘Viridian Inferno’.
A must-have? No. A reason to pass on it? There isn’t one either.
