A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

With their 2nd full-length “In Purge There is No Remission”, Ordinance from Finland doesn’t bring the typical and more common Finnish sound you hear recently, but are aiming for a more dissonant dark atmosphere.

So don’t expect any Satanic Warmaster, Azaghal or Sargeist kinda Black Metal while listening to this album, but think more of the Icelandic scene as well as Deathspell Omega…and to keep it Finnish, a bit of Clandestine Blaze (the grim vocals for examples). During the faster parts, for example on “Gathering Wraiths”, the influence of Mayhem’s “De Mysteriis Dom. Sathanas” comes to the surface concerning the riffs.

If you’re looking for the more raw and melodic Finnish kind of Black Metal, you better look somewhere else, but if you’re a fan of the aforementioned bands and scene, you get a dark yet clear produced piece of Black art. (Ricardo)
