Gospel of the Horns – A Call to Arms

gospel of the horns – a call to arms

Info

Australia is one of the countries in the world where you can find a very recognizable style of Metal. Sweden has its typical Death Metal, Germany has its typical German Thrash, and Australia has its own style of Black/Thrash Metal. Bands like Deströyer 666, Abominator, and Bestial Warlust play a very aggressive combination of these styles and have a unique sound that you can recognize out of thousands.

Well, Gospel of the Horns, featuring members of Bestial Warlust, is another band that plays that typical Australian Metal and is definitively one of the bests in its genre. I have known this band since their ‘Eve of the Conqueror’ EP, and on this one, they haven’t changed that much. They are still playing the Black/Thrash in a sick and dark way.

I can name some influences; in fact, I can mention almost all ’80s Thrash, Death, Heavy, and Black bands. Let’s say this is not the most original style of music, but it’s just very powerful and doesn’t sound dated.

With titles like ‘The Trial of Mankind’ and ‘A Call to Arms’, you can guess what they handle about. The vocals are done in a very aggressive and sick way, and along with the fantastic guitarwork, both the riffs and solos are very heavy, it creates one of the best albums in my Australian Metal collection. My favorite song is ‘Absolute Power’, with such a great riff that I can’t do anything else than recommend this stuff to all of you!

‘An iron will is the will to succeed’, and Gospel of the Horns has succeeded!
