Companions of Hellfire is yet another Black Metal band/project involving the prolific Lord Arian Inferno from Istidraj/C-Tanic/Rituael (Singapore) on vocals and a very talented multi-instrumentalist simply called: The Chaos.
It makes you wonder where the Lord Inferno gets all this inspiration and time. ‘Codex Antichristus’ is their 2016 demo debut, which was unearthed again in 2022 by Masters of Kaos Productions and now reaches our shores.
Musically it’s a quite refreshing type of epic and belligrent Black Metal, with a surprising melodic character and perfectly wrapped around the tyrannical and cruel vocals of Arian who proclaims the things with glee.
The first track hits you like a tsunami and the rest simply washes away everything in its wake. They didn’t bother about difficult song titles altogether as the six EP tracks are simply entitled ‘Opus I’ to ‘Opus VI’.
The sound, the production, the performance, mixing and mastering are top notch and everything sounds tighter than a goose’s arse. And in 25 minutes ‘Codex Antichristus’ gets your blood pumping and juices flowing.
The band has released 4 split releases three of which through Masters Of Kaos Productions (talking about prooting a release!) since and an instrumental appetizer entitled ‘Ad – Dukhan’ in the meantime. And also a new EP is about to be unleashed.
Those who crave a piece of well-produced battle music from South-East Asia know where to go to for their fix.
