A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

Sun Descends Black is a young band from Arkansas, United States. Music wise they play a dark variety of Death Metal with dense essence and their discography consists only an EP entitled “EP I”.

This seven track EP bears a compact auditory resonance of murky riffs, robust growls and well-oriented blastbeats. Hearing the sinister guitarwork, you could easily understand how those have stemmed from the Black Metal genre. This album could be labeled as a Blackened Death release even though it sounds like a Death Metal record for the most part. In general, this EP represents the groundwork ingredients of Demigod, Krypts, Immolation, Asphyx, Incantation and other iconic names. It is hard to overlook the grindcore elements like Napalm Death, Brutal Truth influenced riffs and grooves.

The solid work of this project seems promising. I’m looking forward to their future endeavors, you should too! (Osmani)
