From the Land of Hellas, here we have a band of young enthusiasts called Shavalyoth with their EP titled in the Greek language ‘Μαρχωσιας’.

There is one intro track that leads the way for what we are about to witness, with 3 other songs being offered on this release. The vocals are performed in the Greek language, referring to ancient deities and occult darkness themes. One can find similarities with Kawir, though not in the exact same way due to experience, while one can also find similarities with another Greek band named Karkinos.

The use of keyboards is effective for its purpose. Guitars and bass are well played with clarity, although I can hear a certain amount of reverb in the mix. The album layout and cover are just great in my opinion: for some reason, it reminds me of Hecate Enthroned covers.

This EP, released through Hellenic Metal World as well as Masters of Kaos Productions, offers 14 minutes of Black Metal played smoothly, and as the future will show, I believe there will be more interesting works from Shavalyoth. It is always great to know that young, talented people focus on playing this kind of music.
