Released through Purity Through Fire, is the split album of Vermineux (a project of Spectre from Minenwerfer) and Prieuré (a project from Sans-Visage from Vipère) from France.

Vermineux play potent, sometimes melodic Black Metal/Dark Ambient in the style of Minenwerfer, Nimbifer with inspiration drawn from Medieval/Early Modern History and great catastrophes of that era such as the witch hunts, religious tumult, war, famine, plague. ‘Ashes’ is a lengthy track that showcases the strong musical capacities of Vermineux. Second track that testifies the devotion for the dark Middle Ages is the Vlad Tepes cover ‘Holocaust To The Natural Darkness’.

Prieuré hail from Brittany, France and impressed the scene in 2025 with their second full length ‘Jusqu’au Bénitier’ (Altare Records). Here they serve an intro and the very impressive track ‘Sang’ which is filled with explosive turmoil, medieval melodies and unbridled emotion only the French can deliver.

And although both bands are musically equally strong, my preference goes to the French Prieuré.

All in all an impressive split release from 2 promising musical acts and one of the better releases of Purity Through Fire in my opinion.
