A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Slow. Heavy. Dissonant. These are the three words that come to mind when listening to Australia’s Tenebrific.

The three song EP, ‘Labyrinth of Anguish’, is their first, and is steeped in Incantation’s ‘Onward to Golgotha’ with hints of Grave’s ‘Into the Grave’. The album intro and opening track are painfully slow and full of anguish as the album title would suggest, while the second song opens up with some fast double bass and features the EPs only blast beats while still maintaining that oppressive, down trodden feeling. Album closer, ‘The Final Offering’ adds a refreshing layer of atmospheric Black Metal to their OSDM sound.

Fans of Disma and Incantation should definitely keep an eye on Sydney’s Tenebrific.
