Info

Something that is happening with increasing frequency thanks to all the technological possibilities, is a band or project where members are located in various places across the globe. A romantic might struggle with that particular idea and thinks that a band must come to life in a rehearsal space, while others will embrace the possibilities and advantages. Or, as Carnivore’s Peter Steele once sang, “Do not resist – it is your destiny…Have we not all become the children of technology?”

Unholy Redeemer is an Australian, Danish, and Finnish combination where Death Metal takes centre stage; old school and particularly dark. It’s not surprising when you see names like Desecresy, Slugathor, Impious Baptism, Nocturnal Graves, Church Bizarre, and Undergang appear on their résumés.

As mentioned, dark, somewhat occult Old School Death Metal, with mid-tempo riffs and up-tempo bursts, but where the riff remains central accompanied by a fitting growl. It might be easy to name-drop Incantation; on the other hand, you immediately know what to expect. But also, fans of Sadistic Intent will not be let down by Unholy Redeemer and this fine demo.
