A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Nerocapra are a Death <etal from Turin, Piedmont, Italy and deliver their 4th full-length with ‘La Serpe in Seno’ (translated as: “the snake in one’s bosom.”). This album is out through Warhell Records  and Wine and Fog Productions.

Necrocapra play this uncanny dark old school Death Metal with Thrash/Black metal influences and I spot references to early Benediction, Coroner and Celtic Frost.

The mix is rather raw, there are the Italian-language vocals which are very malignant and vicious, and there is the presence of drummer Roberto Ripollino (from Nihili Locus) who replaces the previous drummer. The other member is Mirco Rizzi who handles vocals and all strings and they recorded the album as a duo.

It’s more than a decent album in my opinion – the technical Coroner influences are omnipresent, there’s enough variation to the music and the production is solid and balanced. The album clocks out at nearly 26 minutes.

Those into old school Death Metal with a twist need to check Nerocapra out.
