A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Through the swirling mist the devil once again reign’s supreme with an unstoppable, mystical force of Count Vornok & Gate Master who endeavour to lead the listener with fire lit torches through the darkness with debut release ‘Arcane Wisdom of The Elders’.

Made up of six infernal offerings the duo collectively known as Mystical Forces are not shy to mix elements of dungeon synth and somehow make you think that it would not have felt out of place in a 70’s hammer horror movie – case in point one of the standout tracks for me To The Ancients.

There are elements of spine-chilling black metal elements, title track ‘Arcane Wisdom of The Elders’ does this incredibly well whilst still staying true to the aesthetic of the release.

A nice surprise is final track ‘Pale Enchantress’ which features guest vocals from L which round of this debut nicely and add yet more depth to the ritualistic sound.

Given the pedigree here it is no real surprise that I am already a fan of this combination and yes, I was scoping out heritage sites so I could go off find a nice, secluded cave and engulf myself in this in the right way. (Rick)
