A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

After the release of their first full length “Reborn in Death” on Memento Mori, Spain added a fine Old School Death Metal band on their list. “Reborn in Death” is a nice mix of old Death influences and some musical arrangements of Old School Swedish Death Metal. Well, you can probably see why I consider their first full length as a fine one. Unholy Prophecies from Germany, who is doing a fine job releasing some nasty Death Metal, signed the band and released this EP. Well, they keep on writing good chunky and groovy rhythm riffs in the way they wrote on the debut. Only the emphasis is more on the SweDeath than old Death, and some Bolt Thrower groove can be added (listen to “From Beyond the Bounds”). The use of perfect fitting leads make “Embedded in Ossuary” an EP I would like to recommend. Put Morbid Flesh on a bill with Spanish hordes like Graveyard and Ataraxy, and you will have a great Old School Death Metal evening! (Ricardo)
