Without a doubt Krisiun is one of the hardest working bands in the Death Metal genre. In this respect they followed Vader who realised that the best way of conquering the scene is by releasing high quality albums and doing a shitload of touring.
I have to admit I sort of lost track of Krisiun after the poor produced ‘Ageless venomous’ but when Ricardo asked me whether I’d be interested in reviewing their latest album ‘AssassiNation’ I didn’t hesitate for one second!
Right off one clearly hears that Krisiun has kept on evolving as the Death Metal beast they are. Anno 2006 they are more refined song writers and occasionally throw in a midpaced section. Though the fast blasting still has the upperhand and that’s fucken good since that’s just how we like Krisiun. Yet the higher pace variation and mighty fine song writing make this album the most enjoyable Krisiun album so far.
Seriously, listen to opener ‘Bloodcraft’ with its killer hooks, vicious breaks, artillery double bass and excellent shredding riffs. Isn’t that the sweet nectar every Death Metal fan longs to hear? Your attention will be hooked and you find yourself running into the walls blood flowing over your face while you can’t wipe that silly grin off of it. The neighbours will think you finally lost it completely but fuck them, they don’t know how immense the hellish delights offered by Krisiun are.
High quality songs like ‘Vicious Wrath’, ‘Father’s Perversion’, ‘Suicidal Savagery’, ‘Decimated’ or ‘Refusal’ show that Krisiun has delivered some of the best Death Metal tunes in 2006. The production is crystal clear yet fucken heavy making sure you will enjoy this album the utmost. And ye shall!
This really is a no brainer folks, if thou diggest Death Metal this album belongs in your collection.
