A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Akin to such projects such as Trolldom & Greve Sweden’s Gnipahålan look to inject 90’s classic sound with well placed second wave elements with latest release ‘I Nordisk Vredelustra’.

Instrumental summoning’s weaved into atmospherics but laden with a savage undertone ‘I Nordisk Vredeslusta’ breathes new, vital life into specific idioms steeped in the darkest past with standout tracks such as ‘Odesstimmans Kampfyllda Har’ and ‘I Bloodets Svarta Dunkel Del II’ really highlight the production, also, gone are the short 3-minute tracks being replaced with 7-minute cacophonies of nightmares

The more you delve into the album you discover melodies, synths and almost a guardianship of tradition and with every play bringing some new element to the forefront of the recording, the song writing and production working well harmoniously as I’m left with the impression particularly with this release that a lot the creativity has been able to really shine – if an example is needed then ‘Fortrollad Till Efvighet’ is just that as It encapsulates the aesthetic and overall vision perfectly demanding more attention and as a consequence more playthroughs (Rick)
