A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

Sometimes when we say “not long after”, it is mostly a release that has been released a year after the previous one. This time “not long after” is the difference between June and October.

The previous album, “Black Stone Church” was a mix of 90s Swedish Death Metal, the melodic kind with a touch of 90s Gothic/Doom, something you don’t hear a lot these days. With “Dark Vistas” Rogga & co. took it a bit futher when it comes to the melancholic part, having thrown in influences of Tiamat’s “Wildhoney”, Paradise Lost’s “In Requiem” and mid till end 90s Katatonia as well. “Dark Vistas” became the logical successor of “Black Stone Church”, on that album you heard the intention, with “Dark Vistas” you hear the result.

“It is Death Metal…and much more”, and I can only agree with that. (Ricardo)
