They have risen from the grave! After the birth of the demo in 2018, Evoker is back with the latest EP “Evil Torment”. This time they delivered 6 songs that were pretty dense with fullness and definitely my kind of music.
The arrangement of the songs and the power of creativity reminds me of the 80’s – 90’s style, especially on the first song “From The Depths” as I smell some Celtic Frost there! Tremendous riffing and solo’s made me delve into the darkness as this EP is so dazzling and worth it for listeners who love old-school Death/Thrash. You must be possessed by songs like “Old Evil”, “Sacrilicious Lust” & “Shackled to the Grave” because it’s so cruel and nasty in comparison to the speed of DEATH music!
They’re definitely back with the black soul and Evoker has proven that they don’t waste time and give Evil Torment yourself! Well done to Martin, Hass and Eren, spirit of old-school never die! (MKD)
