A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Dutch Black Metal trio Alhistja this year unleashed a debut three track demo that has been released on cassette by Nomad Snakepit Productions. A nasty little slice of NLBM here, seven minutes of raw maniacal and unhinged vocal work, fast and frantic bass leads, savage screeching guitar tones and marauding drum tones combine to make this debut demo a fun and brutal first impression of Alhistja. Second track ‘Teringfriedus’, the shortest on offer, is more melodic and with a sparse bass led rhythm towards the end, but the title track gets things back on a barbaric footing with a frenetic display of unbridled carnage. A cool little demo, catchy in places, brutal in most. Simple, effective, killer!
