Svartsyn – Destruction of Man [Re-Release]

svartsyn – destruction of man [re-release]

Info

The next foray from Svartsyn came about in 2003. With much the same line-up minus bass player Kolgrim, you may be forgiven for thinking a softening of attitude or a more open musical temperament may be in order.

But no, dear readers, you would be dead wrong. An even bleaker, much more li-fi sound has been put forth. Main member and remaining to this day guitarist/vocalist Ornias seemed to have embraced a much more Darkthrone / Burzum vibe. The riffing has become more biting and almost drone-like. That harshness in the riffing conveys much of the tone of the album. As stated in the prior review, the drums sound simple, but really listen. They contribute much to the atmosphere as well.
