When it comes to Thrash, there are plenty of topics to debate, one of them being whether to go with an old-school approach or not. With Hostilia, it is clear, the old-school attitude is fully present.
Riff-wise, we go back to the 80s, because you can hear Exodus, Testament and Metallica come through more than once in what they do. When listening to songs like ‘Eternal Death’, there are parts that bring ‘Toxic Waltz’ and ‘Into the Pit’ to mind. This EP closes with a live version of Maiden’s ‘Wrathchild’, played at Bar 2112, run by Peter Iwers and Björn Gelotte, both known from In Flames.
Nothing groundbreaking, but definitely a nice EP.
