Info

It was recently reported on VM-Underground that Wolfkult Religion had signed the Finnish band Vināyakas. Vināyakas is a newly formed Finnish Black/Death Metal band from Helsinki, Uusimaa. The band was founded in 2026 and, as said, is currently signed to the independent underground label WolfKult Religion. Their music combines elements of Bestial Black Metal and Death Metal, drawing inspiration from the savage and uncompromising traditions of the Finnish Extreme Metal scene.

The ‘Cleansed By the Ancient Fire’ EP is the first real achievement. Fierce and barbaric bludgeoning drums serve as a linear guide for a tsunami of swirling guitars.

Musically it is closely related to noise terrorists such as the legendary Canadian Conqueror, Diocletian, Bestial Warlust, Tetragrammacide, Archgoat or Proclamation. And although the music bears many of the influences of the aforementioned bands, Vināyakas still attempts to carve out its own path.

With the finesse of a precision-tuned cruise missile, the band ploughs through six ungodly heavy tracks. Although still in its infancy, Vināyakas has already attracted attention within the underground scene due to the involvement of musicians connected to other Finnish acts such as Alkemisti, Demonic Torment, Krusifoitu, and Weltgeist.

For followers of the contemporary Finnish Black/Death Metal underground, Vināyakas is a promising new name, combining traditional Finnish ferocity with mythologically inspired themes and a raw, old-school approach to Extreme Metal. The lyrical and thematic direction suggested by these titles draws heavily from mythological, occult, and apocalyptic imagery. VM-Underground described the band’s sound as channeling a sense of primordial power while honoring the brutality of Finland’s Extreme Metal heritage.

Hopefully more musical destruction will follow soon…
