A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

Avulsed together with Haemorrhage are the two most recognized worldwide Spanish extreme metal bands. Dave Rotten is a very active man in the death metal field and his label Xtreem Music have released some really good titles. “Eminence in Putrescence” is Avulsed’s debut full-length album, originally released in 1996. Now it is re-released with one bonus track – “Addicted to Carrion”. In case you haven’t heard this album before, prepare yourself for a high-quality death metal marked by the specific low growls of Dave Rotten. Although Avulsed sound aggressive and heavy, they also have their melodic moments that appear in the form of dark keyboard sound in “Sweet Lobotomy” and “Killing Astral Projections” as well as some melodic guitar leads. There is also a much heavier version of “Resistire”,a song originally performed by the Spanish heavy metal legends Baron Rojo. Avulsed have their own specific sound and they don’t remind of any other band. If you are curious to hear how it al l started for Dave Rotten and co. then check this out because this album is an excellent death metal debut. (Zvetan)
