A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

Burying Place from Lithuania exists since 1992 but 2022 was the year when, finally, their debut album ‘In the Light of Burning Churches’ was released.

The band delivers grinding drumming, brutal guitar riffs and the deep growls of the vocalist Mykolas Alekna. Sinister is the first band that comes to my mind after the opening track ‘Blinded by God’, Burying Place has this dark and heavy sound with plenty of clinging bass at the forefront of the mix. Some of the songs are pretty long (‘Death’ is beyond the 7-minute mark) but the brutality is always present and Burying Place doesn’t stop for a second to make your ears bleed with their straightforward brutal Death Metal assault.

There is no need to analyze every track – they are all good examples of the Burying Place’s genre and will be a delight for the years of every Death Metal fan. The sound production is excellent and the cover artwork depicts…a burning church of course.
