Info

The Brazilian black/thrash/speed commando is back again, this time offering an EP of 21 minutes,  full of headbanging hymns for the wicked. If you want a darker version of Venom without copying the masters and throw in a dose of excellent early Bathory, then this is for you. “Blood`N`Spikes“ is once again a great release. Powerful drumming, raspy vocals calling from hell, warm aggressive guitars molesting your ears with catchy RIFFS and melodic solos and a deep bass calling the legions from hell to arms. The EP becomes darker and darker towards the end. There are enough variations in speed to gain a dark and majestic atmosphere, sometimes calling Slayer`s “Hell Awaits” to mind. The Judas Priest cover at the end was executed damn fine but destroys a little bit of the dark aura I mentioned before. Nevertheless, a great EP from a band of which I still think is underrated. Keep it burning guys. (DPF)
