A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Once again, Atmospheric Black Metal from the Ukraine. So once again curiosity all over the place. I always considered Khors as a band who never achieved to write an interesting album with only killer tracks. There were always compositions on their previous albums that made me use the “skip” button, although some songs are really great. When a new Khors album is being released I always hope they are able to write great stuff for a whole album, not only a combination of great tracks and some so-so tracks. With “Black Forest’s Flaming Eyes” Khors starts with a stunning Atmospheric Black Metal track after the intro, which you can expect from Khors or the Ukraine scene. Also “Only Time will Take it Away” beholds the magic “Epic”-element. Unfortunately the tracks “The Last Leaves” and “Wisdom of Centuries” are again nothing more than above average (still the leads are quite good) and got the label “fillers”. I myself find this very regrettable as Khors’ reputation could be so much more than what it is right now and they deserve better. Maybe Khors could switch to be an “EP-band” and that way only release the killer tunes. (Ricardo)
