A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

The two dudes of Zombiefication didn’t succeed to match the Swedish masters with their “Reaper’s Consecration” EP. It was a nice EP, but it lacked just the last punch on the jaw. Strangely enough mr. Jacko and mr. Hitchcock thought the same and tried something different on their new album. The main course is still Old School Death Metal, but not necessarily 100% in the Swedish vein. Let’s say these Mexican Maniacs also grabbed some riffs/atmosphere ideas from the Finnish Old School Death Metal scene and added a bit of ‘n roll and Celtic Frost in the songwriting. A sinister combination I may add. After the first spin it was kinda strange to match the previous EP and this full-length. But after some spins it is clear “At the Caves of Eternal” is up to the mark. (Ricardo)
