‘The Astounding Proliferation of Rites’ is a split between well-known Raw Black Metal masters Wampyric Rites and Nansarunai. Released July 1, 2022 both bands provide different flavors of the genre, while maintaining that Raw Black Metal feel.
Wampyric Rites provides an onslaught of well constructed riffs that pairs well with the drumming. The main takeaway from this output is the delightfully bizarre ‘hooting’ style vocals. They are unlike anything I have heard. That being said, they do fit in well with the instrumentation. Nansarunai only compound the hatefulness. The vocals are cavernous and the riffs icy.
Overall, this is a fantastic Raw Black Metal release, showcasing two of the better known entities in the genre today. (Mazchna)
