Tumulation was born from the minds of Conjureth’s band members. They were switching their musical instruments and roles to play classic Doom/Death metal. As a result, an EP called ‘Savage Blood Domain’ was released in early 2023 and to keep on their productivity, a full album was released in August, 2023. Baptized in blood with the title “Haunted Funeral Creations,” the album consists of eight songs released by Hammerheart Records. The first four songs, “Emergent Chaos Spiral” through “Rorschach,” are new material, while the rest of the album consists of tracks from their EP.
In order to give a crushing impact to the sound, they have down-tuned the guitar and bass, and it came out as heavy, sludgy, and filthy, like walking slowly through a swamp. It gives their song arrangements a great impact as the riffs menacingly lead the songs without guitar solos. The steady pounding of the drums pulverizes your senses, and the songs will hook your ears to keep you listening to the slow, doomy Death tunes till the end.
Overall, ‘Haunted Funeral Creations’ is a tribute to 90s swampy Doom/Death Metal, and their dedication resulted in this good album which is worthy to add to your collection. In 40 minutes, you will enjoy Tumulation’s wall of massive, merciless darkness, although I wish I could skip the samples in some of their songs.
