A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

“Long Standing Australian Death Metal Vets Return With Crushing New Release”…If this album came with a headline, this would be it.

Brutal. Savage. Unrelenting. ‘Sins of the Father’ grabs you by the throat from the very beginning and doesn’t let go. I was literally blown away by the magnitude of this band’s songwriting, production and sheer ferocity. Every word, every blast beat, every note is played with absolute conviction.

Featuring members of Psycroptic and The Berserker, this is a band of seasoned veterans and you can tell that everything about this album is intentional. There are no weak parts anywhere and the production, courtesy of Tasmania’s Crawlspace Productions, is absolutely airtight.

Musically this band is a perfect amalgamation of early Sinister, Vader, Monstrosity, Lock Up with the vocals of Åkerfeldt-era Bloodbath.

There is nothing boring or cliche here and this is easily one of the top releases of 2024. Hands down.
