A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Turkey, for me at least, is more known for excellent death metal acts or bestial black metal bands, but not that much for melodic induced black metal like The Sarcophagus did on their new album “Beyond this World`s Illusion”, released through Satanath Records. The bands shows a lot of variation throughout the album, going from clean guitar intros to dark slow almost doom laden heaviness, changing to mid-tempo grooves and morphing into a chaotic blast inferno. For every taste something is offered. The production is thick and gives to every instrument it`s space. The atmospheric and groovy parts are their best, that`s when they show us their force. The vocals are your typical black metal shrieks, not bad at all, but nothing too outstanding, good job anyway. The other instrumentalists to their one, mentioning the guitar work as the strongest thing by these guys. Next time I wish the soon-to-be-classic track and then we are talking about a potential contender for the elite. (DPF)
