A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

For like a decade ago the Greek scene played an important role in the worldwide Black Metal scene. Bands like Varathron, Necromantia, Thou Art Lord and especially Rotting Christ ruled from the Mediterranean throne and created their own typical Greek style.

In contrast with the traditional cold and raw trends set in the north, Rotting Christ managed to create a dark atmosphere through melancholic guitars and choir keyboard lines by the enigmatic Lord Magus Wampyr Daoloth.

Released in 1991 their EP ‘Passage to Arcturo’ stunned me with the majestic ‘Old coffin spirit’. Two years later the satanic saga continuous with ‘Thy Mighty Contract’, the band’s debut album. Rotting Christ placed the southern scene on the map though this release.

Band leader Sakis may doubt the band’s extreme name, but please pay tribute to the past. May Rotting Christ’s abyssic black cult be remembered forever!!
