A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

Formed in 1990, Demigod, the Death Metal band from Finland, had released in 2007 their third full-length album titled ‘Let Chaos Prevail’ by label Xtreem Music.

Where Demigod used to play old school Death Metal, now they have created a Death Metal album with a very modern touch; hereby I mean that they mix their sound with Thrash Metal influences and melody. The drum from Tuomo Latvalaare is the loudest instrument on this album, because in most of the songs he’s taking the lead, and the rest has to follow his rhythm.

There are also enough tempo-changes and variation on this album, so you won’t be bored when listening to this one. Tuomas Ala-Nissilä has got a powerful voice which is pretty understandable, and when he’s opening his mouth, he’s tearing off the roof. Listen to the track ‘End of Evolution’ which is the best song on ‘Let Chaos Prevail’, because it has got an outstanding song-structure, a very blistering start and some sublime tempo-accelerations in it. Also the track ‘Cult of Sickness’ is worth mentioning for its mighty drum and the whispering voice-passages in it.

Good album, and I hope to hear more from Demigod.
