Info

The title reminds me of Dutch Hardcore Backfire!’s debut CD, which had a song called ‘Straight outta M-Town.’ Funny thing is, Blood Duster band is actually from Australia! I got this tee from an Aussie pen pall along with a mini-album of theirs called ‘Fisting the Dead.’ The mini is more conventional Grind, but it’s still really damn good.

‘Str8 outta Northcote’ is a whole different beast, though! They’re still playing Grindcore but now they sound like a mix of their old stuff, Black Sabbath, and Pungent Stench. Those groovy riffs with the sick vocals make me want to headbang. The titles are all super sick, full of horror and gore with a healthy dose of irony. Some gems include ‘Givin’ stiff to the stiff,’ ‘I hate girls and crusty punx,’ ‘The meat song (stiffy in McDonalds),’ and ‘Where does all the money go when releasing a full-length album.’

There are about 21 tracks, clocking in at a solid half hour of brutal fun!! Funny thing: those samples from Australian horror films make me think of The Flying Doctors every time, because of the accent. For the real underground folks: the band name comes from a song of the same name on Naked City’s ‘Torture garden’ album.

If you’re into original, groovy Death/Grindcore, you definitely need to check out Blood Duster!
