Exhumed – Anatomy Is Destiny

exhumed – anatomy is destiny

Info

This is without any doubt one of the CDs I’ve been looking for since the first day of this year. The new Exhumed, goddamnit! I’ve been following the band for a couple of years now, unfortunately I wasn’t there from the very beginning, but by now they do have a 22-title discography. But I can say the band made an incredible progression from their beginning point to this magnificent new album “Anatomy Is Destiny”. They proved themselves as one of the best death/grind bands ever.

And, again, Exhumed didn’t let me down with this new album. Unbelievable how these guys manage to surpass themselves again and again. This time with the help of famous producer Neil Kernon, most known because of his works with the likes of Nevermore, Judas Priest and Cannibal Corpse. So, a fabulous sound is something that I had to mention; a very clear production is what gives this band what they need. Incorporating the classic elements of metal with the paramount components of modern extreme Death Metal. But not betraying their grindcore roots of course. This fast and furious mixture of both styles bursts out after an intro into the “Waxwork” song, which was already downloadable for a while. The impression we get here, actually the usual style but way more optimised and with a better sound. That trend was followed through the album, so no major differences occur. What I saw as a little change is the hardcore feeling in some songs, but nothing to worry about at all. Because songs like “Consuming Impulse” and “Death Walks Behind You” are just real great grindcore songs. And with this album Exhumed proves themselves worthy again, and they deserve their place among the greats in the grindcore scene. Without any doubt one of the better grindcore bands ever to wander this planet!

In the name of gore: Death is certain… Life is not!
