With ‘Into Victory’, Demonical introduces new vocalist Charlie Fryksell; the notable difference from predecessor Christofer Säterdal being that Fryksell’s voice is more raspy.
Where I previously called ‘World Destroyer’ a step in the right direction for its return to more Old School Swedish Death Metal, the track ‘Into Victory’ heads back towards a sound with more mass appeal. It is the next step for a fan of later Amon Amarth who wants to take things “one notch rougher”. Personally, I’d rather hear Demonical stick to up-tempo tracks with Dismember-inspired melodies, but I’m aware they don’t just exist on this earth for my benefit. For the second song, Demonical have chosen to cover ‘Somebody Put Something in My Drink’, by the Ramones.
After roughly 8 minutes, I can only conclude that this EP is a good way to complete your Demonical collection.
