A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Obscure – Back To Skull

Obscure, that`s what this band was before I had my first listen of their compilation entitled „Back to Skull“. Released by Xtreem Music, these spanish guys released some demos around late 80s to mid 90s. Old thrash influenced death metal with deep growls, tremolo picking here and there, groove parts in almostr every song(in my opinion those are the strong parts oft he band) drum and bass giving some cool bottom and punch and a murky production, your typical demo stuff. Nice compilation of an „Obscure“ band some might dig(you old schoolers and collectors I am talking to you). Personally I am missing the „classics“ so to speak. Well for an occasional spin or nostalgia trip. (DPF)
